Warsaw Expo Puts the Commercial Dishwasher at the Centre of Kitchen Planning

ProKitchen Expo 2026 closed in Warsaw on 17 September after three days that treated warewashing as headline technology rather than back-room equipment. For exporters, the show marked a commercial dishwasher beachhead in Central Europe.

A Dedicated Zone for Dishwashing and Hygiene

The second edition ran from 15 to 17 September at Ptak Warsaw Expo under the theme of efficiency, innovation and sustainability. Its programme included a professional dishwashing and hygiene zone, a placement that few regional shows manage.

Exhibitors in the professional kitchen field included major European brands alongside component and services suppliers. Wash performance, water use and hygiene documentation featured across the demonstrations rather than sitting in a side hall.

Organisers also staged a joint pavilion for Chinese brands, with matchmaking sessions against Polish distributors, hotel groups and quick-service chains. That structure gives smaller factories meetings they would otherwise need months to arrange.

Why Poland Is the Entry Point

Poland remains one of the fastest-growing economies in the European Union, and its food service sector is expanding with it. Delivery kitchens, hotel renovations and shopping-centre food courts all shorten the replacement cycle for washing equipment.

The show leaned into this by aligning content with European efficiency directives and Polish green catering subsidies. Machines that document lower water and energy use per rack now speak to the subsidy application, not only to the utility bill.

Buyers therefore ask for measured figures. Water per cycle, tank heating time and rinse temperature stability belong on the quotation, and a commercial heat recovery dishwasher answers the energy line directly by reusing tank heat.

Matching Machines to the Site

Throughput decides the format. High-volume sites need a continuous machine, and buyers comparing formats often start with the long dragon dishwasher category before checking counter space and ventilation.

Hotels follow a different rhythm, with peak loads at breakfast and after banquets. A documented hotel conveyor dishwasher project shows how buffering racks and staging tables absorb those peaks without oversizing the machine.

Hygiene records are now part of the sale. Food safety audits expect wash and rinse temperatures to be logged, and HACCP compliant warewashing routines have become a standard question in Central European tenders.

What Exporters Should Fix Before Quoting

Voltage and water connection details cause the most rework. Three-phase supply, drain height and water hardness all differ across the region, so drawings should be confirmed before the container is booked.

Certification files need the same care. European safety requirements for commercial dishwashers were consolidated in a national standard that took effect on 1 August 2026, so buyers should ask suppliers to confirm current conformity documents.

Spare parts and service terms close the checklist. Door seals, wash arms and contactors wear predictably, and a factory that quotes part numbers and lead times with the machine removes the buyer's biggest after-sale risk.

Water Quality Decides the Running Cost

Water hardness varies sharply across Central Europe, and it decides how a machine ages. Scale builds on heating elements and wash arms, so a site on hard water needs either an external softener or an internal one, and that choice belongs in the quotation rather than in the service call.

Chemical dosing follows from the same question. Detergent and rinse aid pumps should be calibrated to the local water, because overdosing wastes product while underdosing leaves spots on glassware and film on plates.

Drying performance is the visible result. Rinse aid conductivity, final rinse temperature and the condition of the wash water all show up on the first rack out of the machine, which is the one the customer sees.

Service intervals should be set from the water, not from the calendar. A machine on softened water can run longer between descales, and stating that assumption in the handover document prevents disputes later.

Installation drawings deserve a final check before shipment. Door swing direction, table height and corner clearance are cheap to change on paper and expensive to change on site, particularly in older European buildings where service risers rarely follow the drawing. Buyers should also confirm drain and electrical positions against the site plan, since a mismatch found on delivery day usually costs a week.

Liangji (Xiamen) Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures automatic commercial dishwashers and box washing machines at a 10,000 square metre base in Zhangzhou, Fujian. The company holds ISO 9001 certification, lists more than 100 patents, and rates flagship machines from 3,000 to 5,000 bowls per hour.
